Duplicate your database for testing

SaaS version (16.4)

To get started, sign in with your credentials to https://www.odoo.com/web/login.

That brings you to your databases homepage, if not head to https://www.odoo.com/my/databases

Click on the cog icon next to your production database 

Next, write the name of the test database with a suffix -testMMDD and leave the default checkbox For testing purposes selected :

To validate, click on Duplicate

You should see your newly created duplicate database on your Databases page:

Last but not least, make sure to connect to the test database and then click on Didn't get the email ? as follows: 

Then confirm the action by clicking on Resend

Next, head to your email inbox and find the confirmation email to click on the button that activates your database as follows: 

You can skip the Invite your colleagues and go to your test database, that will expire in 14 days.

Odoo versions 14-16 (pre 16.4)

To get started, navigate to your database manager page. It should be set to your website and ending with /web/database/manager. Then you should select the production database to duplicate:

Next, write the name of the test database with a suffix -testMMDD and leave the default checkbox For testing purposes selected :

To validate, click on Continue. You should see your newly created duplicate database on your Databases manager.
